My teenage Love story

I want to share with you my second love story. The first one will be on this blog later.

I was in the ninth standard then. I studied in an all boys school. There was an all girls school too in my town. My home was on the way in between those to schools. I remember it was my first mid term exams. I had exams in the afternoon. At one o clock in the afternoon I was cycling towards my school to give the first exam of my ninth standard. I was leaving to school from my home. On the road, I swear , I am not adding anything extra to spice up my story, I felt somebody was watching me. Then I saw her. She was the one who was watching me. From her uniform which is meant only for girls of ninth and tenth standard I figured out she was also in ninth standard . One more thing she was going to her school. Our schools have the same management. Same syllabus, same time table and even same question paper. So, a girl wearing the dress meant for ninth and tenth standard girls, going to school in afternoon, she must be ninth standard, because the exams were in the morning for tenth standard.

The first thought after noticing that she was checking me out was "how come a girl is checking me out .." Because you know, the teen years, with a lot of hormones, lots of pimples on my face...Then we just saw each other till we passed each other. Then I turned back . She was still checking me out. Wow..that was nice..My hormones were crazy in teen years..

I still remember her..she was wearing a blue half saree with blue skirt...school uniform..if you dont know what a half saree is ..I have added a picture..she had a shopping bag with the writing pad and other stuff(I could not see the other stuff,, the pad was a bit out of the bag.)..She was holding the bag to her chest like every other girl..

For the next exam I was eager to see her again. Atlast a girl is checking me out. How cool is that? The day of the second exam I stopped at a stationary shop to buy papers for my exam. Yes guys..I studied in a government school. For the mid terms we had bring our own papers..For the quaterly , half-yearly and annual exams our schools provided the papers. Some of my friends wrote little to save the paper even at the exams. Now at the shop we had two counters one for boys. the other for girls..Guess who was there at the girls counter? Are you thinking this seems a bit dramatic..no ..true story.. Yes, she was there..She was also buying papers from the stationary. We just saw each other , no words, nobody even tried to speak. Then an another guy wearing my school uniform talked to her. My god..no,control you imagination. he was not the villain of this story.Actually, he was my friend's brother. We practiced together. We were on the schools sport team.

Afterward I asked him about her. He told her name. It started with 'K' and ended with 'a'. Beautiful name. A Very common name in my home state. She and he went to the same teacher for tuition. And surprise! surprise! Her tuition was on my way to mine. true story guys..Our town is a small town.heheh..

During the exams, I and her K had made an unspoken arrangement. I never left home a bit early or late. I cannot afford to miss seeing her. I think she must have also done the same thing . Because for the next three exams before and after the exams we never missed seeing each other. our routine was simple. When she was walking towards me we had eye contact. Unbroken, till we crossed each other. Then after we have crossed each other we would turn some moments later and wait for the other to turn. I forgot to mention about her friends. They were really supportive. They would giggle and comment and tease her which would make the whole situation more romantic, as in the movies.

Then the exams got over..We have not spoke a word yet. how are we gonna make arrangement to see each other in the forthcoming days? Are we gonna even see other? a lots on unanswered questions..I wanted to see her everyday..I didn't know how she felt...?the next working day ..at morning 9 o clock..

to be continued...

Whats with the beautiful girls & bad boys?

A guy's blog is not complete until he writes about girls. I have always been puzzled by women. Why do girls prefer a bad boy for a good boy? During my studies I have seen a lot of couples composing of a not so good looking guy and a very beautiful girl. Why girls like bad boys? Why do they prefer a guy who drives the bike fast above the speed limit to a guy who follows the rules? Why do they like the guys who has no plans about their future? Do they like to change that guy? believe me girls..you can never change a man...Still they try .. yeap..women! can't live with them..can't live without them!!!

Life Partner

I don't know about girls but If you are a guy you would have definitely thought about this a lot of times. I was browsing in the internet and I came across a some indian girl's engagement and marriage pictures. She was really beautiful. Suddenly I started thinking about my wife to be. The people who know me say I am more than average good looking guy. When i was young, still I am young, I am 23, when i was younger I wanted a beautiful wife.

But as I mature I realize that beauty is not the only thing that matters. I know that in India many men have married their wife just because of her physical attractiveness. My advice to the men out there. You are gonna spend your reminder of your life with one woman. Better you marry here for her character. Physical beauty will not matter when you are old. My criteria for my wife to be are so many that it is doubtful to be met by an average middle class Indian woman. I dont need beautiful wife, but i want a smart looking, well dressed woman. A woman who takes care of her body. She has to be confident, well educated and independent. I don't want a girl who always hangs on me for her needs. I want an equal partner. I am not a hypocrite. I also have all the above qualities. I workout. People who know me say I have good dressing sense.

An Indian poet once said in one of his poem. "A woman without education is like a wasteland. Plants grow there, but they are useless to anybody Similarly her children would be of no use to the society. But a woman with an education is like a farm. Her children are like food plants who would constitute a better society."

A funny story about our diversity - a real thinker

Once there was farmer who found a magic lamp and a genie came out of it. The genie said to him " I would be your slave , but on one condition . You should never leave me without work. If you give me some free time I would kill you". The farmer thought how hard could it be to order a genie around. But soon, he had no jobs for the genie. The genie was about to kill him, then the farmer had an idea. He ordered the genie " go and collect the names of all the castes in India". The farmer still waits for the genie to finish the job. But it never returned.

My experience with Diversity

In my previous entry I wrote about the diversity. I had a first hand experience on this. I want to share it with you. You will understand how it is deeply anchored in our society. The institute where I study is considered the most elite in India. I am sure you have guessed it by now. So, I have a chance to discuss with students who are considered brilliant and bright among the Indians and would be considered intellectuals when they finish their studies from our Institute. For my studies I am living in the state where my institute is situated, which is not my home state. Before my stay here, I had considered the whole India is like my home state. I felt the diversity first hand from my stay out of my home state.

During my stay at the other state, I noticed the things which could be made better .I also noticed the nice things about its culture and people. So I started to bring up these topics with my fellow students who are from this other state, so that I could understand better about that other state. When I said nice things they loved that. But when I started to discuss about the things which could be made better the bitter diversity anchored deeply into our minds came into play.

I discussed these things as a concerned Indian who wants to make things better for his own country and his fellow Indian people. But they saw me and still see me as a foreigner. My colleagues did not like me commenting on their states. They said "Since you have lived here for an year , it does not make you understand our state." I felt their discontent about my roots.

This is a classic example of a typical Indian mindset. They don't consider me Indian , they consider me as a guy from the other state. Even the most brilliant, well educated in the India's most elite institute do have prejudice and to my amazement they still practice it.

Diversity - Root cause of everything

A foreigner visited India. Back in his home some body asked him "How are the Indians?", The foreigner replied, "In India I did not even meet one Indian." Surprised? How the heck did this guy, visited India, a country with one billion people and did not see any one? Its true if you want to meet an Indian you will find him or her in the countries other than India but not in India. In India you will find Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, jains, Tamilan, Malayalee, Andhraites, Biharies, Kannada, gujarathis, north Indian, south Indian, etc etc..

In our history books, we are taught to be proud of a concept unique only to India. "Unity in Diversity". Are we? Inside India every where you could see the diversity. It is not uphold-ed as we were taught in our schools. Each sect of Indians is prejudiced about the other, and they are brought up to believe that their sect is the better than the others.

I don't want to elaborate on this concept. An Indian would have understood what I have been trying to explain because, it is forced into our minds, carved deep into our hearts, injected into our blood, from our childhood.

It is deep rooted in our system.
Starting from the formation of states, which is based on the language; quota reservations in job & education, based on caste and religion; And it has been the basic and the most important concept during the election campaigns. We have more parties bearing a word regarding a sect in their party names than the parties with the word INDIA in their names. Why aren't we ashamed ?

The unity part in our infamous quote "Unity in Diversity" comes now. I am ashamed to say as an Indian that majority of Indians are hypocrites. We want justice for us , our family, our sect, our religion, our state even though it affects other people. Is justice not "the thing you do for the other person what you want for yourself"?

Is it possible for our country to get out of this unhealthy diversity? Is is possible for us to reorganize the states now? No. Reorganizing states are not a practical solution. But where we could do that? In the language department, quota and reservation. It is possible . We need solutions. We need leaders who could provide solutions whose ultimate ambition should be the welfare of the country, not just money and power. And most importantly the education. I would discuss more on these on my further blog entries.
